I am using a custom NVCAP value on my eVGA Nvidia Geforce 6200 ( 6200A on system profiler) 256mb AGP card on the ToH Leopard release.
I had to use this custom value to get dual screen working with QE/CI and rotation. Display detection works well too.
This is used in the Leopard version of NVinject

Hi all,
I'd like to let you know that the above NVCAP value in MrLight's post allows me to have dual screen with an MSI GeForce 7300 LE. One VGA and one DVI->VGA adaptor.
YAY
I'm using latest NVinject 0.1.7 Leo.
Mr. Light, thanks for posting that value.
gotoh, thanks for all of your hard work with this project! |

Through sheer dumb trial & error I got dualscreen working with my gf6600gs/256 PCIe with vga & a dvi->vga adapter.
NVinject 0.2.1
<04000101 00000d00 02000000 0000010a 00000000>
was what I ended up with.
Any information on what these digits actually mean would be of interest.
[edit]
I did some experimenting with tv-out using this setting, and though the TV screen was detected & activated, it killed both main displays on detect, and the mouse failed to work. in addition, though the displays prefpane showed "Television Display" (or some such) and a series of interlaced modes, it was set to NTSC, and the display is PAL, and without a working mouse I had no way to adjust this. it seems tv-out with this card should be feasible, however. |

Hey epicDistortion,
Would you mind sharing exactly how you got your 7300LE working with dual screens. I added the NVCAP 04000000 00000d00 02000000 00000007 00000000 into my NVinject.kext, but I still have no dual display. I confess I'm not quite sure how to do it, but I tried Detect Displays and that did nothing.
I'm running 10.5.2 Kalway Kernel and NVinject 0.2.1. |

(As always) I should have dug deeper on my own. Here's how I got my 7300LE working properly with dual monitors:
from a terminal type: cd /Developer/Applications/Utilities/
then, sudo ./Property\ List\ Editor.app/Contents/MacOS/Property\ List\ Editor /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext/Contents/Info.plist
then, click Root -> IOKitPersonalities -> NVinject -> entriesToAdd -> NVCAP
enter your NVCAP there (I used: <04000000 00000d00 02000000 00000007 00000000>)
Someone also suggested putting a version number in the model string so you can check that the new settings were really loaded.
then, exit and save
then type: sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/Caches/
now you can reboot and the new NVCAP should work. As a side note, my wireless mouse needed to be reset after the reboot (It took me ten minutes of panic to realize that simple problem, I thought my osx was toast). Good luck. |

Any ideas what NVCAP I could try for GeforceGo 7600 256Mb (10de:0398)? I do have DVI, D-SUB and TV-Out (not counting laptop lcd). All of them are black after booting
My current NVCAP is:
In [16]: get_nvcap('BAAAAAAAAwAMAAAAAAAABwAAAAA=')
Out[16]: '04000000 00000300 0c000000 00000007 00000000' |
